Mr. R. woke up to discover a fire had started from an electrical fault in the airing closet. The middle of terrace home suffered substantial fire damage in one bedroom along with smoke and water damage throughout the two storey home.

Within 24 hours, the CCM loss assessor met with the insurance loss adjuster, and together they agreed on the scope of works to be carried out for reinstatement of the property. They also agreed for alternative accommodation (AA) and food allowance until the home was again fit for habitation.
The CCM loss assessor obtained quotes for the insured work from the CCM panel of builders; the work was duly approved by the loss adjuster, and in a matter of a just a few weeks, the home was reinstated.
The CCM loss assessor also processed the contents claim, and a satisfactory settlement with the insurer was duly obtained.
